Driving Down Asthma

Inside Science, a news website operated by the American Institute of Physics, reported on Assistant Professor Emilia Simeonova’s research showing that the implementation of a driving fee in downtown Stockholm, Sweden, was associated with a significant decrease in the rate of acute asthma attacks among local young children. The study, which Simeonova presented at the annual meeting of the American Economic Association in January in Chicago, was also cited on the website of the World Economic Forum.
